Situated on the costa blanca, south of Torrevieja, in the area of Los dolses.

The nearest beach is at La Zenia, a blue flag sandy beach. Approx 5 mins drive away. There are also many beaches either side of this one all along the coast of Costa Blanca.

There are many coves of sandy beaches in the area to explore, a pretty restaurant and panoramic scenery over the harbour is at Cabo roig its one of the best known sights in Cabo Roig is the 16^th century watchtower around which Cabo Roig primarily grew. The watchtower was one of many built along this coast to look out for approaching Berber pirates who frequently attacked villages along the coastline. The watchtower now looks down on the recently renovated marina with its 200 plus moorings.

Mud bathing just off San Pedro at Lo Pagan on the Mar Menor (lesser sea) head south 20 mins away, is best known for its therapeutic mud baths, the mud has been renowned from early times for its healing powers. Due to the long hours of sunlight and the very high salt level in the waters a unique mud has been created in a section of the lake known as La Puntica - the mud contains high levels of potassium, calcium, magnesium, flouride, sulphur and chlorine. The mud is recommended for many skin conditions including acne, abscesses, sores and ulcers, it also has a stimulating effect on wound healing. The mud is also recommended for its anti-imflammatory effect on rheumatism, arthritis, gout and for rehabilitation after a bone fracture. The mud is applied over the infected areas and allowed to dry in the sun before being washed off in the salt waters. The salt water itself is also known for its healing effects. Its all free!

 

Golf

A 5 min drive will take you to the championship LAS RAMBLES golf course at Villa Martin. Real Club de Golf Campoamor 10 mins away. La Finca Algorfa Golf club, nearby then la manga & Alicante 30 mins away.

 

Travel

(San Javier) Murcia airport is the nearest approx 20 mins. Alicante airport  40 mins. Airport pick-ups/drop off can be arranged.

 

Distances

Nestling between 2 large salt lakes and the Mediterranean the fishing town of Torrevieja is approx 4km from the apartment. It has a modern shopping area, but is distinctly Spanish with open air restaurants and there is a large beach front promenade lined with cafes restaurants & ice cream parlours, night markets here too.

The popular "menu del dia" a 3 course lunch set menu for 10 euros can be found right on the beach front, next to the sand and gentle waves of the mediterranean sea! Here between  two marinas.

The town is being developed as it is easily accessed by motorways so day visits to Alicante is approx 45mins or Benidorm can be reached in approx 1hr 30mins.

A 10 min walk takes you to Los Dolcis plaza, coffee bars, restaurants, shops & bars. Entertainment most nights from Kareoke, pub quizzes, bingo nights  to live professional bands, There is a medium sized supermarket, cashpoint & bank.

A weekly street market at playa flamenca sells local produce and leather goods & clothing- a real must! Villa Martin plaza a bit further along comes alive at night with parakeets in the palm trees, Chinese, Indian, Spanish & English food & lots more. Bathe in the therapeutic mud baths at Fortuna. Terra Mitica near Benidorm is an American style theme park. Elche is known for its palm lined streets, palm forests’ thousands of years old, leather factory outlets. Blue flag beaches all along the coastline, go- karting, horse riding, sailing & fishing.

Booking notes

A £75 deposit is payable on booking. The balance is due 8 weeks before departure. If the booking is made 8 weeks prior to departure the full amount is required at the time of booking. A lost key/breakage deposit of £100 is payable in addition to the balance-then refunded on return of the keys and subject to no damage to property or articles within the property or the surrounding areas, or if excess cleaning is required.

"The apartment was as described and the owner was very helpful and reliable. This is a very pleasant apartment, well equipped with everything you could possibly need for a relaxing holiday. We particularly liked the pool area which was well maintained and never crowded (august). The pool was always a perfect temperature! Other residents within the complex were a combination of residents, owners on holiday and guests and were very friendly and accommodating. Our children made some nice friends while we were there and it felt very much like a nice community. Within walking distance is a small plaza with a good choice of restaurants and bars low key and family oriented. Further on but still within walking distance (20 to 30 mins ) is the more upmarket Villa martin Plaza with even more restaurants. I would recommend a car as it wouldn't be that easy to walk to the bigger supermarkets and the beaches, (there is a good supermarket at the nearest plaza - 5 mins walk though).Overall we had a lovely, relaxing holiday and sitting up on the roof terrace each evening was very enjoyable. If you are looking for a good quality apartment in this area of Spain with amenities near by then you could not get much better than this."
